Everything You Need To Know About Khalif Kairo

Khalif Kairo is one of the biggest car dealers in Kenya and one of the most inspiring entrepreneur in the country.

Background & Biography
Khalif Kairo was born November 5, 1996 (Age 28) and was raised in Kawangware, a low income residential area in Nairobi, Kenya.

Like most people who grew up in Kawangware, Khalif Kairo was born into a not so financially buoyant family. His mother was a petty trader and this means he grew up in lack, an experience that motivated him to achieve big in life.

Immediately after finishing high school in 2014, he began selling cars. He just clocked 18 when he started his car trade. Being a novice, he started as a broker, connecting buyers and sellers, learning the game, and building trust.

Later years, he began car importation and when that became successful, he launched Imports by Kairo, his first major venture. What distinguished Khalif Kairo from other car dealers in Kenya was his huge sales of flashy and luxury cars, which he achieved through his aggressive social media campaigns and marketing, growing a presence as one of Kenya’s biggest social media influencers and car dealer.

Move into The Aviation Sector
Following his conquest of the automobile dealership industry in Kenya, Khalif Kairo didn’t put down his guards, his aspirations grew even bigger, eyeing even more sectors. This made him to seek partnership with more business partners and this led to the launch of Kai & Karo Motors and Jetman Global. While Kai & Karo Motors focused solely on automobiles, Jetman Global delt with aircraft leasing and consultancy.

Financial Woes & Legal Troubles
Khalif Kairo had it all going for him. In fact, he was one of the youngest millionaires in the country, touring multiple nations and having flings with Instagram celebrities. But things began to take a downturn for him after customers started claiming they had paid for cars that were never delivered. Others alleged that vehicles they had purchased were repossessed due to unpaid loans.

This led to his arrest on several occasions, with customers citing fraud allegations. However, he was eventually released, maintaining that whatever had transpired were business disputes rather than fraud. He also claimed the attacks were deliberate attempts to tarnish his brand and humiliate him.

In late 2024, Kairo was arrested and taken to court after a client launched a legal battle against him, accusing him of failing to deliver a luxury car that had already been paid for. His troubles deepened when he refused to issue a refund.

While the case was still ongoing, Khalif Kairo suffered another setback as his WeFunder campaign account—which had raised Ksh 12.9 million in just 24 hours—was shut down due to the pending legal issues.

In January 2025, the State opposed his bail application, citing flight risk and his involvement in a Ksh 3 million fraud case. However, in September of the same year, Kairo cleared all fraud charges against him after refunding Ksh 5.9 million to two customers. With that settlement, all allegations were dropped, and he became a free man once again.

Eviction from Home
In January of 2025, it was allegedly reported that Khalif Kairo was evicted from his lavington apartment for defaulting rent. While all of these were going on, his girlfriend, Wavinya Maria deleted all photos of him on her Instagram account and ended all relationships with him.

Khalif Kairo claimed his relationship with the former miss Kenya ended because of he’s workaholic.
