Angelic Voices: Kenya’s Next Big Gospel Group

Angelic Voices

You do not need big studio equipment or fancy booths to record a gospel song that can touch hearts. You just need any recording device, and boom, you spread the gospel of Christ in a powerful and melodic way. Angelic Voices have proven just that.

Background

Angelic Voices is a music group created in 2025 that renders gospel melodies in the Luo language. Made up of Veronica Odeyo, Teresa Otieno, and Caren Onyango, the trio captivated thousands of TikTok users after their undiluted rendition of “Ruoth Okwero” by Brother Moses. The song, which was uploaded on TikTok in October 2025, quickly spread like wildfire, catching the attention of thousands of viewers.

Following their rendition of the song, they continued to put out more live performances, and more well-known figures began showing interest in them. Among them was Awiko Jakabunde, a popular music producer who showed interest in working with the trio.

While their success may look like a coordinated effort, it was simply something built out of love that went viral. These girls did not initially want to form a gospel music group. They only wanted to sing songs and upload them, but it seems the direction of the Lord was leading them toward something bigger. As a result, the music group had to be formed out of necessity.

By focusing on the Luo language, Angelic Voices are spreading the gospel of Christ through one of the most powerful mediums known to man: language. Now, a regular villager in a Luo community can feel the power of God in a language they are most comfortable with.
