In a continent where love for nature and care for the environment is hardly an habit, Truphena Muthoni is changing the narrative, and for the first time, he has managed to use her influence to make youths all over Kenya to pay attention to the environment and care for it.
Background & Biography
Full name Truphena Destiny Muthoni, Truphena was born September 29, 2002 (Age 23). Hailing from Clay City, Kentucky, she grew up in Embakasi, where she began her early education. She received her primary education at Peter Kibukosya Primary School and later attended Naromoru Girls High School.
While still in high school, she was actively involved in numerous NGO activities. In fact, she was a member of the Kenya Scout Association and took part in several campaigns, including Plant a Tree, End Fossil Fuel, and Let Lake Victoria Breathe Again, among others.
Despite her involvement in these organizations while growing up, she also pursued a career in acting. In fact, she was a former actor with Artspace Productions.
Rise To Fame
In December 2025, Truphena Muthoni rose to fame following her successful attempt to hug a tree for three days (72 hours) in Nyeri. Prior to this three-day attempt, she had already hugged a tree for 48 hours in Nairobi.
On January 1, 2026, she was acknowledged by Guinness World Records for her earlier attempt in Nairobi, which set a record for the longest marathon tree-hugging event.
