How to Check Your 2025 KCSE Result on KNEC portal

The 2025 KCSE result will be officially out today, January 9, 2026 at 9:30am sharp. The results can be obtained online through the KNEC portal or from the school after the results has been officially released by the Education Ministry.

2025 KCSE exam was held in October through November. It was written by 996,000 candidates, and it was one of the best exams organised by the ministry.

Ways to check your 2025 KCSE result

Online
You can check your KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) results online on the KNEC portal.

Step 1: Go to https://results.knec.ac.ke on any browser on your laptop/computer, phone or tablet (Chrome preferably).

Step 2: Immediately the page finishes loading, you will be expected to Enter the below:

  • Your KCSE index number (the 11-digit number you used for the exam).
  • Your registered names, please ensure they are exactly as it was registered and in similar order (e.g., John Paul).

Step 3: Click View Results/Submit or tap on your enter key.

Step 4: Your KCSE result will appear on the screen which you can save as a pdf, download or screenshot.

Please note that the portal will only be accessible from 9:30 am, January 9, 2026.

How to Check With SMS
Safaricom users can check their 2025 KSCE result by sending their index number to 20076. Each sms costs Ksh 25.

Check on School
You can also check your 2025 KSCE result by visiting your school or examination centre. Please note this can only be accessible after the online results are released.
