Peter Kalerwa Salasya: Biography, Age, Career & Relationship

Peter Kalerwa Salasya is a politician and a motivational speaker. He’s currently a member of the 13th Parliament of Kenya, representing the Mumias East Constituency.

Biography
Peter Kalerwa Salasya was born February 25, 1989 (Age 35). He hails Mumias and lived most of his growing years in the Kakamega County. Peter had a rough time growing up, and the death of his father while he was just in Form two made things even more unbearable for him.

Peter Kalerwa Salasya was raised by his mother and with assistance from relatives, he was able to complete his basic education. While he was in the university, he developed a passion for politics and eventually got deeply involved in campus politics.

After graduation, he worked as a sales rep, a banker and a lecturer at Sigalagala National Polytechnic.

Education & Career
Peter Salasya completed his primary school education at Shanderema Primary School and later joined Lubinu High School in Kakamega county in 2006. Upon graduation from the university, he gained admission into Egerton University where he acquired a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Banking and finance.

Peter Salasya graduated from the Egerton University in 2014 with a second class lower and relocated back to his county where he secured his first job as a sales rep for a local bicycles dealer.

After working for some years at the bicycle dealership, he sort a better job and eventually got employed by Diamond Trust Bank in the Kakamega County but was sacked after he ventured into proper politics in the year 2017.

Peter Kalerwa Salasya’s first move into politics was a total disaster. During the 2017 elections where he vied for the rep seat of Mumias East, he came a distant last, polling only 254 votes.

In 2022, he launched another attempt at the rep seat of Mumias East, this time under the umbrella of DAP–K and eventually came out successful.

Relationship
Peter Kalerwa Salasya is single and currently not in any relationship. In a post he shared on his Facebook page, the political figure said he doesn’t see himself getting married.

Controversies
Peter Salasya has been involved in lots of controversies. In 2023, he was accused of forging his degree but Peter went on to upload the original copy of his certificate.

In 2023, during inaugural Africa Climate Summit in Nairobi, he made contributions that exposed his lack of idea of what climate change truly is, but he defended his actions, saying he was voted to represent the people of Mumias East and not talks about Climate Change.
