Born on April 19, 1983 (Age 43), Alex Kasau Katombi hails from Nairobi. He began his professional music career in 2004, although he made his breakthrough into the international music mainstream in 2020 following the success of his single “Pewa Pewa.”

The song amassed millions of streams and, for the first time in years, helped bring a traditional Kenyan sound to audiences and airwaves in other countries. However, before the release of “Pewa Pewa,” Alex Kasau Katombi was already a prominent figure in the Kamba music scene and a force in Kenya’s music industry, particularly following the release of his “Akitondo” album in 2011.

The album came after years of hard work and the release of more than 17 albums since the beginning of his professional career. “Akitondo” features some of his notable hits, including “Ngina,” “No Kutomba Sianoi Pastor Mukola,” “Shambiki Ngutema,” “Makai Komwatheleilwe,” and “Ben Wa Alima,” among others.
